SARAT Project organises Archaeology in Local Context Workshops to discuss the local social and economic contributions of archaeological assets, and the last such meeting of 2019 was held in Nevşehir.
Organised in Cappadocia Culture and Arts Centre on November 28, 2019, the meeting drew attendance from cultural heritage professionals, decision-makers, local administrators and students.
SARAT Project's Cultural Heritage Expert Özlem Başdoğan opened the meeting with her inaugural speech, followed by Dr. Işılay Gürsu, who shared the results of the Survey on Relations Between Society and Archaeology conducted by SARAT Project.
At the meeting, the experts shared examples of successful Archaeology in Local Context Workshopprojects from various cities, and screened SARAT Project's videos on the relation between archaeology and humans.
