In May 2018, SARAT conducted a nationwide survey to determine how people in Turkey perceive archaeological assets and what their attitudes towards them are.

In terms of its breadth of scope, targeted audiences, and range of issues being explored, this survey is the first of its kind in Turkey.

Carried out by KONDA Research and Consultancy on SARAT’s behalf, 29 provinces and 103 counties in every region of Turkey were visited and 3,601 people were asked questions.

The findings of this survey are intended to help local governments, officials, and cultural heritage specialists understand the Turkish public’s relationship with archaeology. The final report in Turkish is available here.
